Now you can get yourself an Aadhaar card in a brand new avatar as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has allowed it to be reprinted as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) card.
In simple words, the PVC Aadhaar card is an Aadhaar card shaped like an ATM card. It can be easily be carried in your wallet just like other cards. “Loaded with the latest security features, your Aadhaar is now more durable, convenient to carry, instantly verifiable offline,” UIDAI said in a tweet.
Features of Aadhaar PVC Card
The PVC card entertains good print quality. It is easy to carry as it is not as big as the ones you get out as print. Also, the card has the latest security features like a hologram, guilloche pattern, ghost image & microtext.
Moreover, the card also has an Instant offline verification by QR code feature, is waterproof and contains the embossed Aadhaar Logo.
How to Print Aadhaar PVC Card online?
Those interested in buying a PVC card can do it simply by visiting the UIDAI website. UIDAI has run the PVC card campaign on the homepage, clicking on which redirects to the following page
Then, the Aahaar cardholder will have to enter their 12 digit Aadhaar number and a puzzle security code to receive an OTP on their registered mobile number. One can also use their 16 Digit VID Number or 28 digit Enrolment ID to proceed. Once you enter the details and make the payment, the order will be placed.
Check the status of PVC Aadhaar Card
After ordering, you can check the status of the card on www.uidai.gov.in under the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.
To check the status, all you need to do is visit the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab, then click on ‘Check Aadhaar PVC card status’. Then you will be required to enter 28-digit SRN, 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha code. The status will be reflected after clicking on ‘Check Status’.

Anyone interested in purchasing the PVC Aadhaar card will have to pay ₹50 (inclusive of GST and speed post charges) for the same.
