WhatsApp has added a new feature called the “Lock Chat” feature that will help in allowing its users to lock a single chat in order to improve their privacy. According to sources, this new feature is currently only available to WhatsApp beta testers, and it will allow the users to lock an individual chat to conceal it without shutting the entire program.
Those who are still attempting to take a risk can do so by visiting WhatsApp’s Play Store website. To safeguard users’ privacy, shared images or videos from a restricted chat will not automatically be downloaded into the phone’s Gallery.
In order to activate the feature, beta testers must complete the following steps:
- Navigate to the WhatsApp contact’s profile section.
- Scroll down to ” Lock Chat,” and then tap on it.
- Now check the “Lock this chat with fingerprint” box.
The upgrade will be accessible to a broader set of users in the following weeks, and the stable version should be released to the entire public soon. Users may join up for WhatsApp’s beta program on the Play Store to get a head start on the functionality, although participation is restricted.
The instant messaging app has implemented a function that allows users to link one WhatsApp account to many devices. This option is now available to all users, and the new feature has also been ridiculed on Twitter.
What can the new Lock Chat feature do?
According to WaBetaInfo, the new functionality may reduce the need to lock WhatsApp in order to conceal a few messages. This will provide users the ability to keep selected chats.
