WhatsApp users can now filter chats from the main page. WhatsApp version 2.23.14.17, which is currently available for select beta testers on Android (via the Google Play Store), greets users with a new and organised home UI that displays several filters, allowing users to easily enter into a specific topic without scrolling through hundreds of conversations.
According to WABetaInfo, this functionality is presently only available to select customers who took part in Google’s beta testing program. WhatsApp’s latest beta version divides communications into three key categories: all, unread, and group.
As the name suggests, if you pick the all filter, WhatsApp will display all chats, while the unread filter will only show unread talks. Finally, tapping on the group filter will see all group conversations. Users must scroll down to the bottom of the chat page to use this new feature.
New WhatsApp UI for Android
Just below that, WhatsApp will display locked chats, which were added a few months ago. You can also access older chats from the same menu. The same menu allows you to access status and community. A PIN code or biometrics, such as a fingerprint or face unlock protects whatsApp-locked chats.
WhatsApp is now testing a new security feature that shows the “end-to-end encrypted” banner with a padlock icon directly below the user name, providing users with instant information about the additional protection on WhatsApp. Additionally, WhatsApp just published an iOS update that addressed the platform’s copy-paste bug.
