Up to 32 people can join a voice chat in a group at once thanks to a new feature called “voice chats” that WhatsApp plans to launch. In the coming days, more users will be able to use the service, which is presently being evaluated with a small group of beta testers.
For users that have access to it, the voice chat feature will operate by displaying a “voice waveform” icon next to three dots in the top right corner of the screen. By tapping on this symbol, a chat-specific interface will open and the conversation will start automatically.
Currently, groups with more than 32 members can use this feature, but only 32 persons can participate in a chat at once. The discussion will automatically finish after 60 minutes if no one joins.
According to WABetaInfo, one of the major advantages of voice chats is that the conversation is made without the participants’ phones ringing. Instead, a silent push message alerting them to a new voice conversation in the group is sent to them. Additionally, the voice chats function encrypts every communication end-to-end to make sure that only group members can hear what is said.
The goal of WhatsApp’s most recent update is to improve group conversation and give consumers a more engaging and seamless experience. The platform now offers more opportunities for cooperation, networking, and hosting virtual events thanks to the ability to hold voice chats with more users.
In order to address the changing needs of its consumers, WhatsApp continues to innovate and enhance its services. The platform is now providing a safe option for group voice talks with the addition of the audio chats feature. It is anticipated that the functionality would further boost WhatsApp’s status as a top instant messaging service to more users.
