WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that allows users to pin a message to the top of the window in individual and group discussions. Text, polls, emoticons, places, and photographs will all be able to be pinned by users.
With the rising popularity of instant messaging applications in recent years, WhatsApp users have been requesting that the Meta-owned firm provide Telegram-like capabilities for quite some time. However, unlike Telegram, which allows you to pin many messages in a chat at the same time, WhatsApp only allows you to pin one message at a time.
To pin a conversation on Android, long-press the message and then hit the three-dot menu that appears in the upper right corner of the screen. Now, click the ‘Pin’ button, and the message will show directly below the person’s name. On Apple devices, just swipe right on the message to reveal the Pin option.
You may also pick whether to pin the message for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. Follow the same procedure to unpin a message. The software will select the 7-day option by default. Group admins will also be able to manage who may pin a message, according to the Meta-owned startup.
It is unknown whether WhatsApp intends to expand this feature to channels as well. The pin chat feature is currently being rolled out by WhatsApp, so you may have to wait a bit before it arrives on your smartphone.
