One of the most popular messaging applications, WhatsApp, is developing a new upgrade to improve the user experience. Users will soon be able to add and filter their favourite chats for easy access with a new feature coming shortly to the program, according to WABetainfo. The functionality is reportedly under development and will soon be made available to testers who signed up for the Google Play Beta Program.
The testers will be allowed to use and test the functionality when the developers have cleared it. Furthermore, it has been stated that WhatsApp is testing group filters that will display particular chats and unread messages.
WhatsApp Favourites Chat Filter
The most popular chats may be arranged and added to favourites using this new feature of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.7. Users will benefit from this filter as it will make it easier to distinguish between frequent contacts and others. This function can be considered an improvement over the chat pinning tool. At now, WhatsApp facilitates the ability to pin more than three chats to the top.
According to sources, the latest version would provide WhatsApp’s user interface an additional choice. There are three options available on the app for now: All, Unread, and Groups. However, with this update, the addition of Favorites is anticipated to provide four alternatives.
How Does It Work?
A snapshot of the Favorites chat feature was posted by WABetainfo. The feature’s explanation in the screenshot is, “Make it easy to find the people and groups that matter most across WhatsApp.
By pressing the “Add to Favorites” button, users may manually add their conversations to their Favorites in this function. This option can be seen toward the bottom of the page in the screenshot. According to reports, users will have the ability to add, move, and remove conversations as they see fit.
WhatsApp Upcoming Updates
These days, WhatsApp is working on several changes. The program is reportedly developing a new feature to improve the Communities option. The feature to set up reminders for forthcoming events is something they intend to provide. With the ability to send up reminders for forthcoming events, this new feature seeks to assist community administrators in keeping members informed and involved.
The event reminder function, which will be available soon, will allow administrators to alert group members in advance of scheduled activities. According to a different story, WhatsApp has extended the maximum voice message duration in Status updates. With this upgrade, users may now submit voice messages that are longer than 30 seconds—up from 30 to a minute.
