The Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp also has a payment feature, but limited users are availing WhatsApp payment feature. However, WhatsApp has changed the way of thinking. Just like Paytm, Google Pay, and other payment platforms, WhatsApp Payment is reportedly planning to offer cashback to users using its payment method.
As per the WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp app may get cashback on UPI payments via WhatsApp soon. The feature is under development and cannot be accessed now. The report also shares a screenshot of the newest feature. The screenshot on WABetaInfo shows that a new banned above the list of chats on WhatsApp shows a gift icon and a message that reads – “Get cashback on your next payment” and “Tap to get started.”

The official report also states the feature will be limited to users in India and any payment of Rs 10 or above can receive cashback coupons. WhatsApp has launched UPI-based payments back in 2018, but the feature was available only in beta for a couple of years. Later on, it got all the necessary approvals. WhatsApp payments feature was rolled out globally last year but has failed to gain substantial attention in India.
