WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is launching a feature enabling users to filter and display status updates in a vertical list. The functionality is currently accessible to certain beta testers who download the most recent version of WhatsApp beta for iOS via the TestFlight app, and it will be available to more people in the coming weeks.
“After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.25.10.71 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is now rolling out a new section for status updates to some beta testers,” WABetaInfo said in a statement.
According to the source, the Meta-owned app was testing additional features to provide users with various ways to see status updates. They have now provided status update filters in a new area where they are shown in a vertical list.
According to the report, some beta testers are investigating a new area where all status updates are shown in a vertical list. Users may get to this area by tapping the three-dot symbol in the upper-left corner of the Updates tab. From there, select “View all statuses” to browse the entire list. The newly added area features four filters, allowing users to categorise and modify their status updates exactly.
Four New Filters
- All: This filter displays all of your contact’s status updates, providing a handy method to catch up on everything they’ve posted without missing any changes.
- Recent: This filter, which displays the most current status updates, is especially useful for users who want to remain up to speed on the latest postings from their contacts without having to read through earlier viewed updates.
- Viewed: It allows users to see a list of status updates that they have previously watched, which helps them maintain track of the things they have previously seen.
- Muted: This filter allows users to read muted updates more easily. It maintains them distinct from other filters, allowing you to monitor muted status updates without cluttering the display of recent changes.
“The addition of four new status update filters provides several benefits to users, improving their overall experience.” “Users now have more control over the content they want to see, as they can choose the specific filter that matches their current preferences,” WABetaInfo added.
