WhatsApp is continually involved in new beta testings, sending out the beta versions to the testers around the world. Meta is focused on evolving WhatsApp with every update, so the company is testing out new upcoming features frequently. In recent times, we have witnessed the instant messaging platform testing out new abilities like editing sent messages and reverse option for deleted chats. And the next one on the list is expected to be the feature which allows users to export WhatsApp data and status updates in the chat section.
WhatsApp Backup Of Drive
It was first seen in January of this year that free Drive backups may not be available for WhatsApp in future and the platform may rely on your device’s storage for backup. But now the company is developing a new ability to export the backed up data of Google Drive, as reported by WABetaInfo. The new option is available at the end of backup settings for users to export WhatsApp’s backup from Google Drive after the newly released update of 2.22.13.11 beta. Well, it can be considered that they may provide an option to revert or import the same backup data back.

Status Update On Chat List
In the meantime, WhatsApp is testing another update that was first reported by WABetaInfo in the 2.22.13.9 version. With this upcoming ability, users will be able to access the status updates directly from the chat section. At Present, users are required to click on ‘Status’ next to the ‘Chat’ option to view the status updates. This upcoming update will be similar to that of the feature available on Instagram, which is also owned by Meta.
This new feature was first available or released for WhatsApp desktop beta, but now looks like android users will be getting the privilege next. The backup feature will be very impactful, but for now, we still don’t know how it will be rolled out for everybody.
