The Mahila Samriddhi Scheme is a new initiative being introduced by the Delhi government to provide financial assistance to women. Eligible ladies would earn Rs 2,500 per month under this initiative. It is anticipated that the program would help 15–20 lakh women in the city.
Who Is Eligible?
Women between the ages of 18 and 60 who earn less than Rs 3 lakh annually for their family are eligible to apply. Those who work for the government or are currently receiving government financial assistance, however, will not be covered by this program.
Women over 60 are not included in this program since they are eligible to earn an old-age pension.
The enrolment procedure will open on March 8th, the day the program is introduced.
How To Apply?
Women will be able to apply online through a site that the government will develop. Additionally, the IT division is creating specialised software to confirm eligibility. Officials will verify if the applicant is currently receiving government assistance and link the application procedure to Aadhaar cards.
Additionally, information from the Food and Civil Supplies Department and the Chief Electoral Officer will be utilised to determine whether women qualify.
Additionally, applications will be verified using below poverty line (BPL) statistics. To verify eligibility, the government will also request information from the Income Tax division.
In order to guarantee that more women benefit from the aforementioned program, its funding will be raised in the upcoming fiscal year.
