The last few days in Maharashtra’s politics have been nothing short of a high on suspense movie. Coming together of NCP-Shiv Sena-Congress to form government, finalizing of Uddhav’s name for Chief Minister’s (CM) post, and then overnight turn of situations leading to Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar being sworn in as CM and Deputy CM we saw it all.

Now, with both Fadnavis and Pawar resigning from there posts and the rebellious Pawar returning back to its original camp NCP, Uddhav Thackrey can have a breather as he can now take oath as CM of Maharashtra.

With Supreme Court (SC) ordering a floor test within 30 hours it was all but clear that Fadnavis would not be able to carry on for long, especially after the show of strength by the three-party alliance on Monday night with there 162 MLAs.

The special session of the Maharashtra Assembly was called (following SC’s order) where Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari appointed BJP MLA Kalidas Kolambkar as the protem speaker who administered the oath for other MLAs.

Uddhav Thackrey has already expressed his willingness to the Governor to form the government with a letter of support. The governor has granted him 7 days’ time to prove majority on the floor of the house. He would take the oath as CM tomorrow that is 28th November.

Meanwhile, the three-party alliance known as ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’ is discussing about the portfolio distribution and the number of Deputies (Deputy CM) that Uddhav would have.
