A study conducted by Amnesty India has revealed the harsh reality of our patriarchal society. The study conducted on Twitter says that it is a toxic space for Indian women politicians.
Indian women politicians face substantially higher abuse on social media says the study. This is more in comparison to their counterparts in the U.S. and the U.K. 1 out of every 7 tweet is a troll says Amnesty India.

There is an element of religion in it as well. If the women politician is Muslim then she is 55% more likely to face abuse then other women politicians. The study was conducted on 95 politicians during last year’s Loksabha elections.
