If you are in love with sardiyo ka mausam and wish to experience the best of it, forget Mussoorie or Jammu and Kashmir and head to Siachen glacier because now you can.
A part of the Siachen Glacier referred as World’s largest battlefield has been opened for tourists. The announcement was made by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday. Siachen Glacier is a part of Ladakh, which was recently declared a Union Territory by the center after abrogating Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
Pre and post the subrogation, the BJP government has promised to push developments in both the union territories (Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh). And the opening of Siachen Glacier for the tourists seems to be one step in the same direction.
Rajanth Singh, who is on a visit to Ladkah said both China and India have handled the boundary issue with “maturity” adding that Siachen “has tremendous potential in tourism”.
