Delhi Disaster Management Authority announced Yellow Alert in Delhi and issued new guidelines. It has been announced because of rise in number of Covid cases on Monday in the capital.
Monday witnessed highest single day spike in past six months.
“Yellow Alert” is imposed in a place when the positivity rate for 2 consecutive days rises more than 0.5% or if the cumulative single-day positive cases for a duration of seven days go beyond 1500.

Key Restrictions During Yellow Alert
- School, colleges and all other educational institutions will close.
- Restaurants and bars will run at 50% capacity till 10 pm.
- No changes to online food delivery system.
- Cinema halls and gym will close.
- Night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am.
- Shops in mall to open on odd even basis from 10 am to 8 pm.
- No restriction of odd even for standalone shops.
- Barbers, salons and spas to operate as they do till 10 pm.
- Metro and buses to run on 50% capacity with no standing passengers.
- Weddings will have guest limit of 20 guests.
- No large gatherings allowed.
- Private offices to open from 9 am to 5 pm with 50% capacity.
- Stadiums, sports complexes and swimming pools will close.
- Only 2 people allowed traveling in auto, taxi and e-rickshaw.
- Outdoor Yoga allowed.
Arvind Kejriwal On Situation
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in a meeting said Covid-19 cases are mild and no increase in consumption of oxygen or use of ventilators.
“We are 10 times more prepared than earlier to deal with rise in Covid cases in Delhi”, Kejriwal said.
On Monday, 63 new cases of Omicron were found in Delhi that caused turmoil in the region. The cases are on rise and government has asked people to strictly follow the guidelines.
Omicron cases have observed a spike in states of Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, Telangana and Karnataka.
