WhatsApp Security And Privacy
Meta Owned WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app, focused on customer convenience, privacy & security. This platform has remarkable security features making it one of the safest mediums to communicate overseas
.
In this digital era, these two terms ‘privacy’ and ‘security’ concern us even more than death itself. So it means that despite WhatsApp being completely safe, we should take some measures to make ourselves more secure.
Take A Look At These Five WhatsApp Security Tips To Make Your Messaging Experience More Secure:
Should Enable Two-Step Verification
By enabling Two-Step verification in your WhatsApp account you can add an extra layer of security to your account. In this process, you will create and confirm a unique PIN that anyone will require to access your account. Two-Step Verification PIN is different from a six-digit OTP and you will have to enter it every time you log in. It’s a built-in feature that is very easy to enable. You will just have to go through “Settings/ Account/ Two-Step Verification and click the ‘Enable’ button.”
Security Notifications
WhatsApp makes your messaging secure with end-to-end encryptions. This means both the devices are encrypted from each end when communicating. Security notifications work by quickly alerting you if your account is being logged or hacked by someone on a new device. Even your contacts will receive a quick alert if they have turned on the feature. To enable this feature go to “WhatsApp > Settings > Account > Security > Show security notifications and flip the toggle to green.”
Log Out From Every Old Device
You should immediately log out from all the old devices if they are not with you anymore. On the other hand, if you have lost your phone with the sim still inside, then you should quickly prevent access to your WhatsApp on that phone.
You can do it by getting a new duplicate SIM card and downloading the app on your new phone and just logging in via OTP, by doing this WhatsApp will automatically log out of your old phone.

Log Out Of WhatsApp Web
Log out of the web version of the instant messaging app whenever not in use. The Major web version comes in handy when you want to use WhatsApp on other devices like PC, Laptops etc. But you cannot leave your data exposed on someone else’s system every time. Because the web version directly allows a person to access the chats without a verifying step.
Do Not Open Unknown Links
The majority of forwarded links from unknown chats are malicious. This is a major problem even on WhatsApp. However sometimes you can also receive malicious links from known chats, they forward them without knowing the risk.
