Over the years, most of us have grown up seeing the magical reel-life ending when Aladdin proposes love to Jasmine.
However, the world witnessed the same romance in real-life when actor Matthew Pomeroy, who is currently portraying the titular character in a production of Aladdin at De Montfort Hall theatre in Leicester, made a surprise announcement at the end of the show.
Matthew placed a shining, shimmering and splendid ring around her co-star, Natasha Lamb (Jasmine’s), finger to propose love to her.
Congratulations Matthew and Natasha, so happy for you. I knew there was something magical in the air yesterday on stage, just didn’t know it would be this… just magic ?

“You don’t get to see that moment, but now you do,” Matthew said to the audience before kneeling down to Natasha to give us one of the best moments of 2019.

And guess what? Jasmine flew with Aladdin, once again, on the magic carpet.
“I spend my life stage – it’s my happy place. Proposing on there fits me perfectly,” Matthew told BBC post the proposal leaving us all teary eyes.
