Youtube Android App is getting an update which will allow you to read the video transcription of any video on the app. Previously this feature was available for desktop version only. For some users this feature has started showing up on their Android phones. This means that Google is slowly diffusing this feature in a phased manner and very soon will be available for you.
Android Police has reported that it will add a new ‘Transcript’ feature under the video description with ‘Show Transcript’ button. If you will tap on this button then it will open up complete transcription with timestamps.

If you will the above screenshots then you will see that this feature will allow you to navigate through video transcript by scrolling down the transcript window or you can jump directly to a time stamp. The mobile feature won’t allow you to search through the transcript but you can do that in the desktop version of the feature.
Currently a limited number of Android users have this feature and it is being rolled out via server-side update. Google has not made it clear who will receive the update first. You just need to check for any new update on Play Store and keep your Youtube app updated. You might be lucky to get the feature earlier than others.
