The United States of America has now begun to feel the wrath of coronavirus after it failed to take early precautions to contain the same. As per a report, between Thursday to Friday, as many as, 1,480 people in the US died due to COVID-19. The 24 hours death toll in the US was confirmed by Johns Hopkins University tracker.
With 1,480 deaths counted between 8:30 pm (0030 GMT) Thursday and the same time Friday, according to the university’s continuously updated figures, the total number of people who have died since the start of the pandemic in the United States is now 7,406.
Meanwhile, in other news, an Indian-American politician Nikki Haley has accused China of not disclosing the number of real deaths adding that it’s “more concerned about its reputation than helping the world to fight the virus”.
“China has reported only 82,000 coronavirus cases & 3300 deaths in a nation of 1.5 billion people. This is clearly not accurate,” Haley, the former US Ambassador to the United Nations, said in a tweet on Thursday.
“China cares more about its reputation than helping the rest of the world defeat a virus that was started in their country,” Haley added.
President Donald Trump had also said that China is hiding the real number of fatalities adding that he didn’t believe in the number given by the US.

As per the reports, US has appointed The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to investigate the real death cases in China. “CIA hunts for authentic virus totals in China, dismissing government tallies,” said The New York Times headline of a report on this issue.
