96 Years Old Tops Literacy Exam, Would Be Awarded By President

Defying all the limits of age and inspiring many 2 women from Kerala have shown what they are capable of. 96-year-old Karthiyani Amma topped the literacy exam. The exam was conducted by Kerala Literacy Mission Authority (KLMA).

Along with Karthiyani Amma, 105-year-old Bhageerathi Amma also scripted the record by becoming the oldest student of KLMA. Karthiyani Amma, topped the Class 4 equivalency exam conducted by KLMA in 2018. She is to be awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019 for achievement. She would be getting the honor jointly with Bhageerathi Amma

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind would confer the award to the ladies on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March. For the unknown Nari Shakti Puraskar is India’s highest civilian award for recognizing the achievements and contributions of women. The awards are given away by the President of India every year on 8 March.
