In a bizarre claim about women that for sure comes from a discriminatory country like Pakistan, a well-known cleric, accusing women on live TV, said that the coronavirus pandemic has been unleashed on humans due to the wrongdoings of women. The so-called religious leader made the comments in the presence of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The incident was reported by news agency ANI. As per the report, Maulana Tariq Jameel made the comments during the Ehsaas Telethon fundraising event on Thursday as Imran Khan looked on.

He said that coronavirus spread in the country as a result of women dressing inappropriately. He balmed women who “were often scantily dressed” for the spread of the coronavirus disease in the country.
Wrath
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan was soon enough to lash on the statement of the cleric.
“HRCP is appalled at Maulana Tariq Jamil’s recent statement inexplicably correlating women’s ‘modesty’ to the Covid19 pandemic. Such blatant objectification is unacceptable and, when aired on public television, only compounds the misogyny entrenched in society,” the commission tweeted.
A popular newspaper named Dawn in an editorial wrote that it is a shame that he wasn’t corrected when he made the statement. Pakistan is also been accused of hiding coronavirus cases in the country and sending infected people to Kashmir in India to spread the virus.
