Changing Address In The Voter ID Card
The Voter ID Card is issued by the Election Commission of India. Steps For Changing The Address
If you want to update your address on your voter ID, follow these steps:
- Log on to the National Voters Services Portal at https://www.nvsp.in/
- Now, click on Form 6 under apply online for registration of new voters/due to shifting from AC.
- If you have changed your residence but still live in the same constituency, click on form 8A.
- Provide details required- your name, date of birth, state, constituency, current well a permanent address.
- Add your email address and mobile number.
- Submit the form after uploading all the required documents including photographs, proof of address, and proof of age.
- In the last step, fill in the declaration option and enter the captcha number. Verify the information provided by you and click on the submit tab.
How To Apply For The Voter ID Card Online?
In case you have not applied for voter ID card, you can follow these simple steps to apply for it.
- Visit the official website of the Election Commission of India.https://eci.gov.in/
- Click on the National Voters Services Portal.
- Click on “Apply online for registration of new voter”.
- Enter details and upload the required documents.
- Click on “Submit”.
- After that, users will receive an email on the email address that has been provided.
- The voter ID is usually received after a month of application.
- The documents required are one passport-sized photograph, identity proof (birth certificate, passport, driving license, PAN Card, or high school mark sheet), and address proof (ration card, your passport, driving license, or a utility bill).
