Asia Cup 2025: Full Schedule, Teams, and India’s Squad Revealed

Cricket fans across Asia are counting down the days as the Asia Cup 2025 gets underway on 9 September in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament, running until 28 September, brings together Asia’s strongest cricketing nations for a thrilling battle for continental glory. Known for iconic rivalries and unforgettable matches, the Asia Cup is once again set to deliver a feast of cricketing drama.

India’s 15-Member Squad for Asia Cup 2025

The BCCI has announced India’s squad for the tournament, with Suryakumar Yadav leading the side as captain. Yadav, who recently recovered from sports hernia surgery in Germany, is all set to make a determined comeback. Shubman Gill, currently India’s Test skipper, has been named vice-captain and returns to the T20 setup after more than a year.

Some major highlights from the squad:

  • Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, both ranked among the world’s top two T20 batters, strengthen India’s batting firepower.
  • Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh spearhead the pace bowling unit.

India, already the most successful team in Asia Cup history with eight titles, will open their campaign on 10 September against UAE in Dubai. The high-voltage India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled for 14 September, also in Dubai. This year’s edition returns to the fast-paced T20 format, after the 2023 ODI version.

The 17th edition will feature eight teams, divided into two groups. The top two from each group will qualify for the Super 4 stage, leading to the final on 28 September in Dubai.
