Ravindra Jadeja Reportedly Breaks BCCI Rules During 2nd Test, But Faces No Punishment

Ravindra Jadeja, a star all-rounder, played a big role for India in the second Test against England by scoring 89 important runs in the first innings, which helped his team achieve a strong total.

However, Jadeja went against the new team rules by travelling alone to the Edgbaston Stadium instead of using the team bus. According to the new rule, all players must travel together to matches and practice sessions to maintain discipline and unity.

Jadeja arrived at the ground before everyone else because he wanted some extra batting practice. Even though he broke the rule, he is not expected to be punished since he arrived early with the intention of helping the team.

Why Did Jadeja Do This?

  • Jadeja explained that he wanted to practice against the new ball before the match started.
  • He said that in England, the ball can move suddenly, so getting more practice is always helpful.
  • His extra effort helped him bat better and support his teammates.

The New Team Rules: What Players Must Follow

Main Points of the New Guidelines

  • After a tough tour in Australia, the cricket board made new rules to improve discipline and teamwork.
  • Here are the main rules in simple words:

Team Travel

  • All players must travel together in the team bus for matches and practice.
  • Travelling separately is not allowed unless the coach and selectors agree before.

No Personal Staff

  • Players cannot bring personal cooks, hairdressers, stylists, or security guards unless the board says yes.
  • This helps the team stay focused and reduces problems with travel and hotels.

Domestic Cricket is a Must

  • Players must play in domestic matches to stay in the national team.
  • Skipping these games is only allowed in special cases with permission.

Luggage Rules

  • There are limits on how much luggage players and staff can bring.
  • If anyone brings more than allowed, they must pay for the extra themselves.

Practice Sessions

  • Everyone must attend all practice sessions and travel together.
  • This shows commitment and builds a strong team spirit.

No Personal Shoots

  • Players are not allowed to do personal photo shoots or ads during a series or tour.
  • This keeps everyone focused on cricket.

Family Visits

  • Family can only visit players on long overseas tours (more than 45 days) for a short, approved time.
  • The board will pay for shared rooms for the player and family during this visit, but other costs are the player’s responsibility.
  • Any exception needs approval from the coach, captain, and manager.

Official Events

  • Players must join all official team events and promotions.
  • These are important for the team’s image and sponsors.

Stay Till the End

  • Players must stay with the team until the tour or series is officially over, even if matches finish early.
  • This helps with team bonding and keeps everyone together.

Quick Summary of the New Rules

  • Travel together: No solo trips to games or practice.
  • No personal staff: Only team-approved people can join the tour.
  • Play domestic cricket: Stay connected to home matches.
  • Follow luggage limits: Don’t bring too much.
  • Attend all practices: Show up and travel with the team.
  • No personal shoots: Focus only on cricket during tours.
  • Family visits are limited: Only allowed at certain times.
  • Join official events: Be present for team activities.
  • Stay till the end: Don’t leave early.

These new rules are meant to help the team work better together, avoid distractions, and focus on winning matches. Jadeja’s case shows that sometimes players might break a rule for a good reason, but the main goal is always to help the team succeed.
