All shops in the Capital, including barbershops and salon, can operate in Delhi from today. However, spas are still prohibited from opening. Other than spas, the Delhi border will also remain shut for a week in the first phase of Lockdown 5.0.
This comes after Noida announced that it will not allow people from the Capital to enter Noida. The Noida authorities said that most cases in Noida, in recent days, are linked to Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing the people virtually, said that “the moment we open the borders, people from across the country will come to Delhi for treatment”.
According to the Chief Minister, Delhi had 9,500 beds for COVID-19 patients. “I can guarantee, as your Chief Minister, there will be a bed if you or someone in your family is infected,” said Mr Kejriwal.
Delhi currently has the third-highest number of coronavirus cases in the county. 470 people in Delhi have died due to the virus.
