According to the newly issued statement by BCCI, it is confirmed that Mayank Agarwal, India’s opening batter, is now playing in the Indian squad for WI ODIs
This statement is issued when the seven members of the Indian Cricket Team are tested positive for the covid-19 test. This includes four players and three staff members. The players that were find Covid positive are Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Navdeep Saini.
BCCI Statement
Players of the Indian Squad were requested to report To Ahmedabad on Monday. They are going to play the ODI series against West Indies. But before traveling to Ahmedabad they are asked to go for an RT-PCR test. So according to the BCCI statement cricketer, Mayank Agarwal is added to the Indian cricket squad.
Adding to their statement they said that opening batter Shikhar Dhawan and bowler Navdeep Saini’s COVID-19 report has received on Monday and they both found positive.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been tested two times, first on Monday and second on Tuesday. The first report was negative and the second report was positive.
Shreyas Iyer and therapist Rajeev Kumar were tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday. The results were positive. But before the final test, in the first two rounds, the results of the tests were negative.
On the other hand coach T Dilip and senior officer, B Lokesh tests were conducted on Monday. Results came positive for both of them.

Measures Taken
Currently, BCCI medical team is handling the positive cases of our Indian squad. Members were completely isolated until their results come negative.
Fortunately, there is no threat to the ODI series as the Indian team has 26 numbers of total players. The Match officials and West Indies players which reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday were put in the same hotel as the Indian ODI team.
