The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the provisional timetable for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in 2026. According to the announcement, the exams are likely to be held between February 17 and July 15, 2026.

Key Highlights of the Schedule

The provisional plan covers a wide range of exams, including:

  • Class 10 board exams
  • Class 12 board exams
  • Examinations for Class 12 sports students
  • The second board examination for Class 10 students
  • Supplementary exams for Class 12

More than 45 lakh students are expected to appear across 204 subjects in India and 26 other countries. Alongside the written papers, CBSE will also conduct practical exams, assessments, and related evaluation processes to ensure that results are declared without delay.

Evaluation and Results Process

As per the timeline shared, the evaluation of answer sheets will begin roughly ten days after a subject examination is conducted. The checking process for each subject is scheduled to be completed within 12 days. For example, if the Class 12 Physics exam is held on February 20, 2026, the evaluation process will start from March 3 and conclude by March 15.

CBSE has clarified that the dates currently shared are provisional. The final date sheet will be released after schools submit their complete list of candidates. Students are advised to stay updated through official notices to avoid misleading information.
