CBSE LOC 2025-26: Schools Must Enter Student Details With 100% Accuracy
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all schools to take extra care while filling out the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2025-26 board examinations. Key details such as the student’s name, date of birth, and subject codes must perfectly match the admission records. Any mistake may lead to issues during the exams, and in some cases, even rejection of forms.
Critical Points for Schools
CBSE has warned schools against making errors while entering student details. The student’s name and date of birth must exactly match the school records, as discrepancies could cause serious problems at exam centers later.
Special attention is required while choosing and entering subject codes, as even a single mistake could result in a student being allotted the wrong subject during board exams. Some important subject codes are as follows:
- Class 10 Codes
- Hindi-A: 002
- Hindi-B: 085
- Urdu-A: 003
- Urdu-B: 303
- Mathematics (Standard): 041
- Mathematics (Basic): 241
- Hindi-A: 002
- Class 12 Codes
- Hindi Core: 302
- Hindi Elective: 002
- English Core: 301
- English Elective: 001
- Sanskrit Core: 322
- Sanskrit Elective: 022
- Urdu Core: 303
- Urdu Elective: 003
- Mathematics: 041
- Applied Mathematics: 241
- Hindi Core: 302
Schools must ensure these codes are checked and entered accurately before submission.
Correction Window and Guidelines
CBSE has provided schools with a correction window from October 13 to October 27, 2025. During this period, schools can make corrections to details already submitted. However, an additional fee will be charged for each correction.
Once the corrections are made, schools will issue verification slips. If any remaining errors are found during verification, they can also be rectified within this window.
These rules are not just for Classes 10 and 12. The same applies for Classes 9 and 11, so every detail—including name, date of birth, and chosen subjects—must be correct.
Key Reminders for Schools and Parents
- Double-check names, dates of birth, and subject codes with admission records before submitting.
- Stay updated by regularly visiting cbse.gov.in.
- Inform students and parents to verify details early to avoid last-minute issues.
- Incorrect data may result in rejection of exam forms, so accuracy is crucial.
The CBSE has made these guidelines to ensure that students face no hurdles during the examinations and that their future opportunities remain unaffected.
