Indian Railways has announced the opening of several special trains, such as the Tejas Superfast Festival Special and Vande Bharat Express, to make travel between Delhi and Bihar easier in anticipation of the holiday rush around Diwali and Chhath Puja.
Chhath Puja Special Trains To Bihar
- Tejas Superfast Festival Special
From New Delhi to Patna: On a few days (October 29, 31, November 2, and 5) this train will run from New Delhi from 8:25 AM to Patna Junction at 8:30 PM, making several stops along the route.
Return Trip: On October 30, November 1, 3, and 6, the train will depart Patna at 7:30 AM and arrive in New Delhi at 7:35 PM. It will stop at important stations including Ara, Buxar, and Kanpur Central.
- Vande Bharat Express (Patna-Delhi)
During the holiday season, a Vande Bharat Express will operate on the Patna-Delhi route for the first time, cutting the journey duration to about 11.5 hours. On October 30, November 1, 3, and 6, this train, which only has chair car seats, will leave New Delhi at 8:25 AM and arrive in Patna at 8:00 PM. On November 2, 4, and 7, the return service will depart Patna at 7:30 AM.

Delhi-Patna Superfast Festival Special
On October 24 and 31, the Delhi-Patna Superfast Festival Special Express will also run, leaving Delhi at 11:55 p.m. and reaching Patna at 4:40 p.m. The return trip is scheduled to depart Patna at 5:50 PM on October 25 and November 1.
