Couple Marries Thorugh ‘Video Call’ Amidst Lockdown

At a time when almost everything is delayed in the face of lockdown, this couple refused to wait for marriage. At a time of technology when the virtual world has bridged the distance, there is nothing to worry about. This couple substantiated just that with their act.

The incident which is being reported from Maharashtra’s Aurangabad a marriage was solemnized on a video call. The man named Mohammad Minhajudd, based in Aurangabad exchanged marriage vows with her ‘soulmate’ based in Beed via video call on Friday.

Since there are no gatherings allowed during lockdown the couple resorted to this innovative style of marriage. The bridegroom’s father Mohammad Gayaz said that the marriage was fixed between the two persons six months ago when there was no fear about coronavirus. Elders of the family gathered at the home to conducted marriage via phone he added.

The Qazi who performed the rituals for the marriage, Mufti Anis ur Rehman, said both the families are happy as the marriage got conducted with the minimal cost incurred and the ceremony was a simple one.
