Due to the Delhi Half Marathon on Sunday, the metro will be open starting at 3:15 AM. The metro will thus start operating on all other lines at 3:15 AM, except the Airport Express Line (New Delhi-Terminal 3) and the Grey Line (Dwarka-Dhansa Bus Stand).
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that the half-marathon runners’ metro charge will be covered by the organizers. DMRC will provide tickets with QR codes based on their specifications. The metro will be free to use for runners.
The organizers of the half marathon will provide runners with wristbands that include unique QR codes. Between 3:15 and 4 AM, the metro will run at 15-minute intervals. Between 4 and 6 AM, metro service will be offered at 20-minute intervals. The metro will be accessible on all corridors at the designated hours starting at 6 AM.
Delhi Traffic Advisory For Half Marathon
Traffic advice for the half marathon has also been issued by the Delhi Traffic Police. Due to the half marathon, traffic in South and Central Delhi will be affected till 11 AM on Sunday.
The Delhi Half Marathon is expected to draw about 35,000 participants, according to the advice. The race will start at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 4.45 AM.
Timings for the Half Marathon
The 21.09-kilometer Half Marathon, which includes the Open and Police Cup, will start at JLN Stadium at 5 AM. At 6:50 AM, the JLN Stadium Complex will host the Elite Athlete Men and Women (Indian and International) Half Marathon, which is 21.09 kilometres long.
