Delhi on High Alert After Pahalgam Attack: Extra Police and Security Everywhere

After the recent attack in Pahalgam, Delhi has been put on high alert. Police and other security forces have been sent to many important places across the city to make sure everyone stays safe. On Wednesday, extra security was added in areas where there might be large crowds or protests.

A protest was planned near the Pakistan High Commission, so police took no chances. The Rapid Action Force, paramilitary teams, and local police were all deployed there. They put limits on public gatherings and made sure no trouble would happen. Police officers carried batons and teargas guns in case the situation became tense. Other busy places like India Gate and Jantar Mantar also had extra police officers on duty.

Extra Security at Tourist Spots and Markets

In South Delhi, popular places like Qutub Minar had more security. Well-known landmarks like the Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, Akshardham, Lodhi Garden, and Jama Masjid had police and even SWAT teams keeping watch. Drones were used to check from the sky in case anything looked unusual.

Police also checked vehicles at the borders of Delhi. In busy markets like Chandni Chowk, Kashmere Gate ISBT, and Sarojini Nagar, the police checked guests and tenants more carefully. Bomb squads searched public places to make sure everything was safe.

People Protest Peacefully and Show Unity

People in different parts of the city showed their support for the victims and asked the government to take strong action. At Jantar Mantar, protestors waved national flags and held signs. Religious leaders from different communities met at Imam House to stand together and speak against the attack.

Traders in Sadar Bazar wore black bands to show their sadness. The chairman of the Sadar Bazar Traders Association, Paramjit Singh Pamma, and president Rakesh Yadav said the attack had shocked the country and asked the government to act firmly.

On Thursday, the Khan Market Traders Association will hold a candle march and keep shops closed in the morning. On Friday, shops in Sadar Bazar will also stay shut as a way to protest the attack.

Delhi is being careful, but people are also standing together in support and strength. With both security forces and the public alert and united, the city hopes to stay safe and peaceful.
