While doctors and health workers from across the world are at the forefront of COVID-19 fight they are not getting support. When I talk about support I mean support in the form of safety equipment as they are the most exposed to the virus. Personal protective equipment (PPE) has been a common demand from the side of doctors.
While their demand for PPE was not heard off they went into protest in a unique way. The story is from Germany where the doctors have gone ‘naked’ to protest. A group of German doctors have posed naked in an attempt to draw attention to shortages of protective clothing and equipment.
The doctors clicked their pictures in their practices, taking cover behind files, toilet roles, medical equipment, and prescription blocks. Going naked has a symbolic meaning attached to the protest. The doctors want to convey that they are as protected without PPEs as they are naked. The German doctor took idea from the actions of a French doctor, Alain Colombié.

Alain was photographed naked in his practice after describing himself and fellow doctors as “cannon fodder” in the fight against the pandemic. Meanwhile, firms in Germany producing protective clothing have upped their production capacities but have been unable to meet demand. Medical practices, clinics, and care homes have made frequent requests for filter masks, goggles, gloves, and aprons and say their needs have barely been met.
