Easy Guide for PNB Pensioners: How to Submit Your Life Certificate Online and Offline in 2025

Senior citizens receiving their pension from Punjab National Bank (PNB) can now submit their annual Life Certificate both online and offline with ease. To make the process smoother for super senior citizens aged 80 years and above, PNB has opened an early submission window starting October 1, 2025, helping them avoid long queues and delays that often occur in November.

Early Submission for Super Senior Citizens

As per the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), all banks have been instructed to support digital submission of Life Certificates for pensioners aged 80 and above from October 1 each year. This early window ensures timely pension credit and greater convenience for older pensioners.

PNB also confirmed this initiative through its official social media handle, encouraging senior pensioners to take advantage of the early submission option and “skip the November rush.”

Super senior citizens drawing pensions from PNB can submit their Life Certificates through several methods, including:

  • Face Authentication
  • Biometric Authentication
  • Doorstep Banking (DSB) Services
  • Physical submission at any PNB branch

What Is Jeevan Pramaan?

Jeevan Pramaan is a government-approved Digital Life Certificate (DLC) service that verifies a pensioner’s living status through biometric or face authentication linked with Aadhaar. The digital certificate, recognized under the IT Act, can be directly submitted to pension-disbursing agencies, eliminating the need for physical paperwork or branch visits.

Ways to Submit Your Life Certificate at PNB

1. Face Authentication via Jeevan Pramaan App
The simplest option is through the Jeevan Pramaan mobile app. Pensioners can generate their Digital Life Certificate using Face Authentication technology. All they need is a smartphone with a camera and their Aadhaar-linked mobile number—no additional biometric device or bank visit required.

2. Biometric Authentication at Branch or CSC
Pensioners who prefer biometric verification can visit their nearest PNB branch or a Common Service Centre (CSC). Bank officials or CSC operators will assist in generating the DLC using a fingerprint or iris scan, instantly validating the life certificate.

3. Doorstep Banking Service
For those unable to travel, PNB offers a convenient Doorstep Banking (DSB) facility. Pensioners can request this service through the Doorstep Banking Alliance app or by calling customer care. A PNB representative will visit their home to complete the biometric verification and submit the Life Certificate.

4. Physical Life Certificate Submission
Pensioners can still opt for the traditional method by visiting any PNB branch in person. They must carry a valid ID (such as Aadhaar or PAN) and their pension documents. A bank officer will verify and record the submission for processing.

Special Provision for Those Aged 80 and Above

To ensure uninterrupted pension payments, pensioners aged 80 years and above are permitted to submit their Life Certificates in October each year. This provision, directed by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, ensures that banks like PNB are equipped to handle early submissions and support super senior citizens efficiently from October 1 onward.
