Elon Musk Has Been Named Time Magazine’s “Person Of The Year.”

The Time described Elon Musk as “the gloomy, blue-skinned man-god who invents electric automobiles and goes to Mars” and “the clown,” “genius,” “visionary,” and “showman.”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk have been selected Time magazine’s person of the year for 2021. To put it another way, the Time magazine called Musk a “clown” and a “genius,” as well as describing him as a “innovator,” a “visionary,” and a “showman.” Musk “aspires to preserve our planet and bring us a new one to inhabit,” the magazine added.

Tesla’s soaring price has increased Musk’s net worth to over USD 300 billion, overtaking Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as the world’s wealthiest person. On Monday, Tesla’s stock was trading at about USD 1,000 per share, and he controls around 17% of it.

Time reported that “his fledgling rocket business, Space X, has leapfrogged Boeing and others to dominate America’s spacefaring future,” citing his embodiment of the technological advances. In the multibillion-dollar electric-vehicle business he pioneered, Tesla owns two-thirds of the market and is valued at a cool USD 1 trillion. That has made Musk the wealthiest private individual in history, at least on paper, with a net worth of more than USD 250 billion.

His interests include robotics, solar power, cryptocurrencies, brain-computer implants to thwart the threat of artificial intelligence, and subterranean tunnels to transfer people and freight at high speeds.”

Even Elon Musk’s bowel movements are being live-tweeted, according to the story. It was pointed out by the magazine that Musk has an army of devoted social media followers (and investors) who “hang on his every word”.

Time cited Musk’s accomplishments, including the formation of SpaceX in 2002, the development of SolarCity, and Tesla, the world’s most valuable automotive firm.

“Recognition of the person who had the biggest effect on the events of the year, for good or bad,” the magazine stresses. “It is not an award.”

Despite its relatively recent profitability, Tesla is the world’s most valuable automobile business, with a market valuation of more than $1 trillion at one time this year. Ford and General Motors, Detroit’s two biggest companies, are only valued around $200 billion when taken as a whole.

A recent statement by Tesla CEO Elon Musk that half of his tweets were “written on a porcelain throne” was noted by Time. Time went on to explain one of those toilet Twitter storms in their profile of the outspoken CEO before concluding: “This is the guy who desires to preserve our planet and find us a new one to inhabit..”
