One of the largest cargo ships in the world, The Oslo, arrived at the Inner Harbour of Visakhapatnam port on Monday. This was the first time such a huge ship has docked at the port on the eastern coast.
The cargo ship had left the Richard Bay in South Africa to dock at a port in Vishakapatnam carrying steam coal this morning. The officials said that the cargo ship, with such a heavy load, has arrived at the port for the first time.

To note, Visakhapatnam port authorities conducted a simulation study in Singapore last year to learn to steer heavy ships into the Inner Harbour.
The docking of the ship attracted a lot of viewers who also got to behold the docking of the big cargo ship.

Visakhapatnam Port is among the 13 ports in the country across the Indian coast. The same is the third-largest dock in India and the only port in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
It is an all-weather, landlocked and protected port, meaning it is encircled by land with an opening to the sea.
