Amidst the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic government of India announced that it would conduct a survey. The government would be conducting a ‘telephonic survey’ on COVID-19. As a part of it, citizens would receive a call on their mobile phones from a designated number.
Citizens would receive a phone call from ‘1921’ on their mobile phones. The survey would be conducted by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The government has also asked the citizen to be aware of pranksters. Feedback and participation from the citizens are asked for by the government.
“People are informed that it is a genuine survey and are requested to participate in a good measure when a call comes in from 1921 to enable proper feedback of the prevalence and distribution of Covid symptoms“, read press release tweeted by PIB.

The survey comes at a time when India has crossed 20,000 cases and 650 deaths. Over 4,000 patients have recovered so far in India. Globally the virus has over 25 lakh people.
