At the time when board exam results of class 10th and 12th are being announced it is natural that some might have scored well while some have scored low. Those who score less marks start doubting themselves and fear about their future. Well, that is only the product of their mind and nothing real.
If you don’t believe me then you would surely pay heeds to the words of Nitin Sangwan an IAS Officer of 2002 batch. Nitin shared his old CBSE class 12th mark sheet to show that marks don’t decide your future. The officer took to Twitter to share the mark sheet and more importantly the message for the youths. “In my 12th exams, I got 24 marks in Chemistry – just 1 mark above passing marks. But that didn’t decide what I wanted from my life“, he wrote.
“Don’t bog down kids with the burden of marks. Life is much more than board results. Let results be an opportunity for introspection & not for criticism”, read the tweet further. Soon the officer’s tweet got viral and got praises from the netizens (mostly students).
Here is what they said:
Not only Chemistry, your Physics marks were poor too yet you became an IAS. That’s an interesting inspirational story!

True sir, but you also must have slogged it out for your UPSC exam. I think what we should be teaching our kids is that board exam is not the one and only final test of realising your dreams. You will get opportunities to do better elsewhere, even if you don’t do great here

Exactly. Moreover now a days there is an inflation of marks. Students secure as high as 595/600. It was unthinkable for brilliant students to secure above 70 out of 100 earlier. Those securing 47% in MA in English could write correct English. Now a days many securing 90 can't.

Very truth you told sir, there is lots of things to learn other than marks. It's a most important is general knowledge and establishing self into higher thinking is required marks are not helping the general knowledge.
