The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced several adjustments to the board test structure for this year. Changes have been made in response to comments from stakeholders, whether it is the removal of division, differentiation, or the removal of Accountancy answer booklets.
List Of Few Major Updates
1. No Answer Books In Accountancy
The Board has decided to discontinue using the answer booklets issued on the subject of Accountancy. The decision was made in response to comments from stakeholders.
“It is informed that from Board Examination, 2024 CBSE based on feedback received from stakeholders has decided to do away with the Answer Books wherein tables were provided in the subject of Accountancy. From Examinations-2024, normal lines Answer Books as provided in other subjects in Class 12 will be provided in Accountancy subject also,” the official announcement added.
2. No Announcement Of Overall Division, Distinction Or Aggregate
The CBSE has stated that no overall division, distinction, or aggregate would be awarded to students taking the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in 2024. The Board announced after receiving many requests from candidates to inform them of the parameters for determining the percentage of people. The board will not calculate, announce, or tell the proportion of marks.
3. Special Arrangement For Students Participating In Sports Events, Olympiad
CBSE has declared that students who are participating in national or international sporting events or international Olympiads and are unable to sit the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will be given special tests at a later date. However, there will be no distinct or special CBSE 2024 test chance for the compartment and practical examinations. It was decided to encourage sports and other educational competitions among teenagers.
To qualify, candidates must engage in a sport recognized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), as well as an Olympiad recognized by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE).
4. Sample Question Papers, Marking Scheme Released
A total of 60 sample question papers for Class 10 and 77 for Class 12 have been issued. Students can verify this information by visiting the official website, cbseacademic.nic.in. The answers, as well as the marks assigned to each response, are included in the marking scheme.
5. Boards Exams Twice A Year, The Best Score To Be Retained
Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Education, previously stated that the new curricular framework (NCF) as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is complete, and textbooks would be published for the 2024 academic session.
According to the NCF, board examinations will be held twice a year, with students permitted to keep the top result. Students may sit for a board test in disciplines for which they have finished coursework and believe they are prepared.
Furthermore, from now on, Class 11 and 12 students will be required to study two languages, one of which must be an Indian language and subject choices will not be limited to streams; students will have the freedom to pick.
