On the occasion of 74th Independence Day that India will celebrate on August 15, the Indian Tricolour will be hoisted at the iconic Niagara Falls in Canada, reported Hindustan Times. The flag hoisting will take place on the evening of August 15.
Besides hoisting of the flag at Niagara falls, the Indian flag will also be hoisted at some iconic locations in Canada including over the 553-meter-high CN Tower, Toronto on Sunday.
The three-dimensional Toronto sign near the City Hall in Toronto will also be illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag on Saturday and Sunday. All these events will take place throughout the weekend.

India’s Consul General to Toronto Apoorva Srisavasta told Hindustan Times that “It is a matter of great pride that this Independence Day, iconic locations like Niagara Falls, CN Tower and the Toronto sign will be illuminated in Indian tricolour.”

From India to Canada, the Independence Day celebrations have moved online owing coronavirus pandemic. Even the India Day Parade, which happens annually for the Indian community in Canada, will go online. The event will feature videos showcasing the culture and cuisines from various parts of India as part of the virtual parade.
Another event featuring cuisine from different parts of India also held virtually this year. The event named Taste of India features celebrity chefs and was attended by thousands of food lovers last year.
Besides flag hoisting in Canada, the Indian flag will also be hoisted at Times Square in New York for the first time on August 15.
