The beautiful Pink City of India and the capital of the state of Rajasthan ‘Jaipur’ is now a heritage site. United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has accorded the status to Jaipur on Wednesday.
Jaipur was certified as a ‘World Heritage site‘ by UNESCO Director, General Audrey Azoulay, at a mega event held at the historic Albert Hall. Minister of Urban Development Rajasthan Shanti Dhariwal received the ‘world heritage’ certificate.
UNESCO would also collaborate with Rajasthan Government’s Tourism department to develop Western Rajasthan for tourism, said Azoulay. Earlier The Historic City of Ahmedabad. and Capitol Complex, Chandigarh were awarded the status.

Several senior cabinet ministers in the Rajasthan Government were present on the occasion. The certification would help in bringing tourism to the state said the Urban Development Minister Dhariwal.
