The suspense over the final call on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is now over. The tournament which was pushed to April 15th from 29th March finally bowed to the situations. As per reports, the BCCI was ready to conduct matches empty stadiums and with Indian players as well.
However, the extension of lockdown from 14th April to 3rd May and with hopes of the further extension has been suspended. The BCCI now has decided that the IPL 2020 Season will be suspended till further notice. This comes after news of staging the tournament pushing the Asia Cup surfaced.
There are high chances that BCCI would look for July to September window for the tournament. This would mean BCCI would be convincing the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to postpone the Asia Cup to a later date. All this, however, is possible if the pandemic is controlled within the time.
