Like every year, the season of Char Dham Yatra began with the opening of portals of Gangorti and Yamunotri Dham on April 27. And today, at 6:10 AM, the doors of Kedarnath Temple in Uttrakhand were also opened after a six months long winter break.
For the unknown, the doors of the temple are kept shut throughout the winter and only opens as summer commence allowing people to take the route to the temple with ease.
As per the reports, only selected priests were present during the Dham opening ceremony of the temple and they followed strict norms while participating in the same. They wore masks and maintained special distancing norms during the portal openings. The portals of the Gangotri shrine opened at 12:35 PM, whereas the Yamunotri Temple was opened at 12:41 PM.
As the news of the reopening broke in, people took over social media to say a word about it. While many people shared pictures of their past Kedaranth experiences, others, on the other hand, prayed to Lord Shiva to end the pandemic.
