Your intent to help someone is always above all the difficulties in the path. If you don’t believe us then this man from Mumbai is a living example of that. 31-year-old Shahnawaz Shaikh sold away his SUV car to arrange ‘Oxygen Cylinders’ for the patients amidst the pandemic.
The good samaritan sold his 9 years old Ford Endeavour for the greater cause. Shahnawaz is distributing cylinders to families of COVID-19 patients across Mumbai since 5 June. So. far he has helped 250 families with hos work. The SUV which he sold was used as a makeshift ambulance for nearby people.
Shaikh who has been doing the good act has suffered a tragic incident that moved him to action. As per reports from The Quint on 28 May, Shaikh’s business partner’s sister died of COVID-19. She was taken to hospital on autorickshaw and was refused by 5 hospitals as she died before being admitted. After the incident hail realized that had she been provided an oxygen supply she should have survived.
Shaikh made some research and found that there is shortage of oxygen cylinders and started offering them to the patients free of cost. He is also encouraging the family member of patients to refer to a doctor and follow prescribed oxygen levels.
