
NCERT Launches Free Online Courses for Class 11 and 12 Students
To support students preparing for their board exams, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has rolled out free online courses for Classes 11 and 12 through its SWAYAM portal. Registration will officially open on September 22, 2025.
Course Structure and Subjects Offered
The program is tailored to help students strengthen their conceptual understanding across different subjects. Each course will run for 24 weeks, with classes conducted by expert NCERT faculty members. The curriculum has been divided into simple, bite-sized modules so students can learn at their own pace. This initiative is especially beneficial for learners in rural or remote areas who may not have easy access to quality teachers.
For Class 11, the subjects available include: Accountancy, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Physics, Psychology, and Sociology.
For Class 12, students can choose from: Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, and Sociology.
These structured courses not only supplement school learning but also serve as valuable preparation material for upcoming board exams.
Important Dates and Certification
- Enrollment opens: September 22, 2025
- Enrollment closes: February 20, 2026
- Last date to apply for examination: March 2, 2026
- Final assessment: March 3, 2026
Students who score 60% or above in the final assessment will be awarded an official certificate of completion by NCERT.
