Nonetheless, Indian nationals are permitted to travel to some locations without a passport at all. A passport is not one of the documents that are still needed, however, some others are.
Nepal and Bhutan are the two main nations that Indians may visit without a passport. Furthermore, Indians are permitted to go to a particular area of Pakistan without a passport.
Travel to Nepal and Bhutan Without a Passport
Passports are not needed for Indians on road trips to Nepal and Bhutan. Nonetheless, a legitimate identity document is required, such as a voter ID card or Aadhaar card. Nepal does not require a passport for air travel, however Bhutan does.
March through May or September through November are the ideal times of year to travel to Nepal. Indian nationals can enter Nepal without a passport or visa.
Indian visitors are permitted to enter Bhutan for a maximum of 14 days without a visa. For road travel, an entrance permit must be obtained from the immigration office, although a passport is not necessary. Passport-sized pictures, the entrance permit, and a voter ID or Aadhaar card are required for all travellers.
Pakistan’s Kartarpur Sahib Corridor
In addition to Nepal and Bhutan, Indians can go to Pakistan’s Kartarpur Sahib Corridor without a passport. Indian nationals may now enter the hallowed Sikh temple, Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, without a passport thanks to this corridor, which opened a few years ago.
Visitors must, however, register their trip date in advance. This particular passageway is the only way to enter the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara.
