World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Canada’s Denis Shapovalov in straight sets to lift his fifth Paris Masters title on Sunday. Djokovic, ruthless on the court, claimed a dominant 6-3, 6-4 victory over his 20-year-old opponent.

Shapovalov had reached the final after his semi-final opponent Rafael Nadal pulled out of the tournament before their match. This was Djokovic’s 5th trophy of the season. The 16-time Grand Slam champion now has won 34 Masters titles.
