Only 2 McDonald’s in India Are 100% Veg—Here’s Where They Are
Pilgrims making their way to the revered Vaishno Devi shrine now have a familiar and comforting dining option along their journey. McDonald’s has opened two new outlets on the pilgrimage route—one at New Track-Tarakote Marg and another at Ardhkuwari in Jammu. Both restaurants are designed with the region’s spiritual values in mind, offering a completely vegetarian menu. In a thoughtful nod to local customs, all menu items are prepared without onion or garlic.
The Managing Director of McDonald’s India – North and East recently shared the news, expressing excitement about serving both pilgrims and local residents. He explained that the goal is to make McDonald’s food and drinks more accessible to those traveling this special path. The Tarakote Marg location features both dine-in and take-away services, along with digital kiosks for quick and easy ordering. The Ardhkuwari outlet, meanwhile, is ideal for grabbing food on the go.
McDonald’s has created a special menu specifically for these locations. Pilgrims and travelers can enjoy favorites like the McAloo Tikki, McVeggie, and McSpicy Paneer Burger, as well as the McSpicy Paneer Wrap. The menu also features the famous fries, a range of beverages, and a selection of desserts—all crafted to suit the local palate and religious practices.
Quality is at the heart of everything McDonald’s does. The company is committed to maintaining high food safety and quality standards from farm to plate. Over the years, strong relationships have been built with local suppliers, ensuring that only the best ingredients make it into every meal.
But what truly makes McDonald’s stand out is its people. The team is dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming experience for every guest. In North and East India, McDonald’s employs a large group of team members across many locations. The new restaurants near Vaishno Devi have hired local staff, offering flexible and supportive job opportunities.
McDonald’s believes in helping its employees grow not just professionally, but personally. Working at McDonald’s gives people the chance to develop important life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and quick thinking.
