The COVID-19 as we know is making giant strides in the developed and well to do nations of the world. Global power U.S.A is not left untouched from its menace. The nation has left China and Italy behind in terms of the number of cases.
A whooping 16,000 confirmed cases were reported in a single day on Thursday. The number of cases reported as of now stands at 83,545, with 1,201 deaths. China with 81,285 cases and Italy with 80,589 cases are now 2nd and 3rd. In terms of deaths, however, Italy is still at the top.
As of now, 8,215 deaths have been reported from Italy. The number of cases in the U.S surged 10 times from 8,000 to over 80,000 in a week’s time. On Thursday the U.S. also saw the most number of deaths in a single day being reported. 263 deaths were reported yesterday. The country so far has done 5,50,000 tests. US President Donald Trump attributed the spike in the confirmed cases of coronavirus to the large-scale testing of the deadly disease.

Vice President Mike Pence said it is important for hospitals and labs testing the samples to report back to the Centre for Disease Control. This is to provide full visibility to the President with the best counsel.
