Angels can come in any face, and for this woman, they came in face of 2 policemen. 2 Policemen patrolling on night duty helped a woman to deliver her baby on a roadside. Yes, on the roadside you read it right. This happened as the hospitals denied her entry even in such a condition.
The incident has come to light from Dharamkot town of Moga in Punjab. The woman named Jyoti (age 30), started having labor pains around 9 P.M. on Friday night. Riding on a bike she and her husband struggled for nearly 3 hours to find a hospital. 3 Hospitals including government primary health center (PHC) didn’t even open doors for her.
With all hopes lost ASI Bikkar Singh and constable Sukhjinder Singh came in. Doing their PCR duty at night the two policemen stopped the couple. Seeing Jyoti writhing in pain and her condition deteriorating the two acted quickly. The two policemen arranged for wooden benches called an acquaintance nurse from her home and other women from the neighborhood and asked them to safely deliver the baby their by the roadside. The woman delivered her baby by midnight with the help they arranged. The policemen later dropped Jyoti and her family home
“Don’t be in any hurry. Mother and baby should not suffer any harm. Thank the Almighty not us“, said the two to Jyoti’s mother-in-law who thanked them.” These cops came as angels for us “, said Jyoti’s husband Harmesh who is a daily wager. The authorities of PHC said that no staff was present so they have to turn down Jyoti. “They were all on duty for Coronavirus at Janer center”, said PHC Dharmkot where the couple went.
