Saudi Arabia oil company Aramco is being slammed for racist misconduct amidst the spread of coronavirus. The company recently dressed a foreign worker as a hand sanitizer deployer and deployed him to offer hand sanitizer to the passerby.
The company was accused of racism as the image of a man wearing a mask went viral on the internet. Though the image was not geo-tagged, netizens allege the image was from the company’s Dhahran office.
In their responses, people slammed the company for “dehumanizing” and akin to “modern-day slavery” after which, Aramco posted an apology clarifying why it did the same.
This is inhumane.

Outrageous and that guy in the suit compounded his injustice by actually using the gel, it must be so humiliating for that victim.

Aramco apologised for the incident claiming that its intent was only to raise awareness about Coronavirus.
“The company has immediately stopped this act and has taken steps to prevent it from happening again,” Aramco wrote in a tweet.
Despite the apology, some netizens were not convinced and said that Aramco must apologise not to its followers but the worker in person.
